Cause of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is an infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which causes damage to the immune system. This result and rapidly progressing infection of various kinds (which in this case is called opportunistic) and neoplasms. AIDS was first registered in the United States in 1981, according to WHO officially registered in 1989. The disease is transmitted sexually and through parenteral manipulations. Mental disorders in AIDS can be very diverse, including a wide range of neurosis to severe organic brain lesions.
