We must consider two deviations from the normal pattern of education: separation from parents and abnormal behavior of parents.

In 1944 Bowlby on the basis of uncontrolled retrospective study, the object of which 44 were young offender, suggested that separation from the mother at an early age leads eventually to the formation of personality, characterized by antisocial behavior and inability to form close relationships. Later, these ideas were further developed in the book, which had a significant impact Forty-four young thief (Bowlby 1946). This work has stimulated many studies on immediate and long-term results of the separation of the child from the mother (of the general findings, which have guided research results, according to Sec. 20). In connection with the etiology of antisocial personality disorder can be argued, first, that the results of separation from the mother is much more diverse than Bowlby suggested at the beginning, and that not all children, it has an adverse effect. Second, initially gave only a single value factor deprivation of the mother, but in fact the results of the impact of separation depends on many factors: age of the child, his former relationship with the mother (and father), as well as the reasons for separation. The last two points lead to the second type of deviations from the normal pattern of education.

There are two types of evidence, indirect evidence of the important role of parental behavior and the nature of the relationship, established in the family, as the causes of antisocial personality disorder. The first of them was highlighted by a study on the separation. In the course of this work has been observed that when parents break up, it is usually preceded by tensions and quarrels that continue for months and may themselves affect the child's development.
The second is some evidence consists of two parts: the first, discussed in the previous paragraph, binds behavioral disorders in children with personality disorders in later life, the second indicates that the behavior of the parents is an important cause of behavioral disorders in childhood. For example, Rutter (1972) for a convincing material demonstrated that the relationship between separation and antisocial disorder is determined by the sons of disharmony in the family life of their parents. Taken together, this circumstantial evidence is definitely not enough talk about the importance of education as a result causes of antisocial personality disorder.
